19 Essential Fall Events + Festivals in the Cleveland Area This Year
Fall is finally upon us! Crisp morning walks through crunchy leaves, homemade apple pie, pumpkin spice lattes and cozy sweaters—there are so many things we love about this season in Ohio. Don't miss out on these important rituals by attending one of the fall festivals and events happening in and around Cleveland this year!
And because we can't wait until the official first day of fall, we are starting the harvest party a bit earlier in September! From art shows to pumpkin festivals, here are the essential Cleveland events you can't miss this fall.

Rocky River Falls Arts Festival
Where: Old Detroit Area, Rocky River
When: September 14, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Rocky River Falls Arts Festival was first established in 2009 to celebrate the talents of Rocky River residents and highlight the merchants in the Old Detroit Shopping Area. After 11 years, the only thing that has changed is the sheer size of the event. This year, 57 vendors are planning to participate! You'll also get to enjoy plenty of local food trucks and live music all throughout the day.
Village Peddler Festival
Where: Lake Metroparks Farmpark, Kirtland
When: September 14-15, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Village Peddler Festival at Lake Metroparks Farmpark in Kirtland is back for its 38th year! The 2019 event will feature live music, more than 175 arts and crafts exhibitors, delicious food, a corn maze and many activities for children! The event will also showcase a massive farmers' market filled with gourmet and harvest-time specialties that you can spend the entire afternoon exploring.
Harvest Moon
Where: Cleveland Botanical Garden
When: September 20, 6 p.m.
This fall, experience the Cleveland Botanical Garden under the stars at their annual Harvest Moon dinner! Enjoy a five-course dinner prepared by Cleveland's top chefs while surrounded by elegant, natural beauty at the gardens. The dinner will take place outside, under the harvest moon, around the Conway Family Reflecting Pool on the Geis Terrace. In addition to delicious food and beautiful sights, guests will also be treated to live music and locally brewed beers from the Boss Dog Brewing Company, the Butcher and the Brewer, the Great Lakes Brewing Company and Platform Beer Company.
Elyria Apple Festival
Where: Ely Square, Elyria

The Elyria Apple Festival began in 1980 after locals Bill Fitch and Al Murphy witnessed the success of the Circleville Pumpkin Festival and decided to hold a fall festival to Elyria—with one major change. Instead of pumpkins, they wanted to prominently feature the numerous apple growers in the area, and thus, the Elyria Apple Festival was born! This year, you can expect a variety of apple-themed fun, including an apple pie baking contest, an Apple Festival Princess Pageant, an apple art show and so much more.
Apple Butter & Cider Weekend
Where: Lake Metroparks Farmpark, Kirtland
When: September 21-22, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
This weekend at the Lake Metroparks Farmpark is all about apples! Bring the whole family to taste some delicious, locally made apple cider—and even make your own. Visitors will also be able to peruse the Showman's Circle area, which will feature a farm-themed playground and covered shelter for live animal demonstrations. Plus, you won't want to miss the hay maze, corn maze, harvest-themed crafts and much more!
Tremont Arts & Cultural Festival
Where: Lincoln Park
When: September 28 & 29, Saturday 12-7 p.m. & Sunday 12-5 p.m.
The Tremont Arts & Cultural Festival is one of Cleveland's longest-running music and arts festivals—setting up shop every fall for over 21 years. This year, the festival will feature over 130 juried artists and crafters. And don't forget the music and dance performances; the beer and wine garden; the children's village and much more!
Rockin R' Ranch Old West Pumpkin Fest
Where: Rockin R' Ranch, Columbia Station
When: Every Weekend, September 28-October 27, 12-5 p.m.
Rockin R' Ranch Old West Pumpkin Fest is one of Ohio's largest fall festivals, packed full of fun events for the whole family. Head to Columbia Station any weekend, September 28-October 27, and enjoy pony rides, a pumpkin slide, hayrides, a pumpkin patch, an animal petting farm, face painting and a Zombie Hunt 3D paintball experience! You can purchase tickets, which cost $11, online and at the ticket window on site.
Ohio City Street Festival
Where: West Side Market
When: September 29, 12-8 p.m.
Head to West Side Market on the last weekend of September for a day-long fall celebration! West 25th Street will be full of the best food, drink, retail and arts entertainment Ohio City has to offer. Music and arts programming will take place throughout the day and the Kid Zone will offer fun for the whole family—including face painting, a balloon animal artist, inflatables and more.

Pumpkin Ale Fall Festival

When: October 4, 6-10 p.m.
Pumpkin beer lovers rejoice! The Pumpkin Ale Fall Festival is back and bigger than ever, featuring a fantastic selection of local beer, wine and food makers along with some spectacular entertainment. Visit their website to check out the full, impressive lineup!
Goblins in the Garden at Holden Arboretum
Where: Holden Arboretum Warren H. Corning Visitor Center, Kirtland
When: October 5-6, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Get the Halloween festivities started early at the Holden Arboretum! This annual family-friendly, not-too-scary celebration offers endless daytime trick-or-treating for costumed little ones (and costumed dogs!) in a festive garden setting.
Corn & Pumpkin Festival
Where: Lake Metroparks Farmpark, Kirtland
When: October 5-6 & 12-13, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Celebrate the harvest season at Lake Metroparks Farmpark this year with the Corn & Pumpkin Festival! There, you'll be able to help husk, shell and grind the corn; make corn husk dolls; explore a 3-acre corn maze; and paint a masterpiece on a pumpkin.
Brew at the Zoo
Where: The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
When: October 10, 6-10 p.m.
Adults 21 and over are invited to enjoy a variety of Cleveland's best craft beers, live music, animal encounters and more during this after-hours Halloween event at the Cleveland Zoo! General admission tickets include unlimited samplings and small bites of pub fare.
Boo at the Zoo
Where: The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
When: October 11-13, 18-20 & 25-27, 5-9 p.m.

Boo at the Zoo is considered Cleveland's sweetest Halloween tradition. And you have three weekends to enjoy the festivities at the zoo, including treat stations, unlimited 4-D Theater movies, carousel and train rides, a hay maze, a Monster Mash dance party and much more!
Apple Butter Festival
Where: Century Village Museum, Burton
When: October 12-13, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Since its inception in 1949, the Apple Butter Festival has been drawing in thousands of people from all around the country to Century Village in Burton—and the moment you get within a mile of the festival you'll smell why! This old-fashioned autumn event features freshly made apple butter slathered on everything. Take a moment to watch the famous butter being made in copper kettles before going to get some for yourself. You'll also get to taste delicious apple fritters, tour historic buildings, visit with artisans and more!
Hauntaquarium at The Greater Cleveland Aquarium
Where: The Greater Cleveland Aquarium
When: October 18-19 & 25-27, 6-9 p.m.
Hunt for treasure at this unique pirate-themed Halloween party at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium! Activities include a magic show, face painting, animal encounters, games, a DJ-ed dance party, a trick-or-treat trail, crafts, pumpkin animal enrichment, costumed scuba divers, and various special appearances. Tickets are $12 for non-pass holders (both adults and children) or $10 for pass holders (both adults and children). Children under 2 years old are free.
12th Annual Spooky Pooch Parade
Where: Kauffman Park, Lakewood
When: October 19, 12:30-3:30 p.m.

We can't leave our four-legged family members out of the Halloween fun! LakewoodAlive invites all dogs (and their owners) to the 11th Annual Spooky Pooch Parade at Kauffman Park in Downtown Lakewood. The festival starts at 12:30 p.m. and the parade kicks off at 2 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony announcing winners for several categories, including Best Dog and Child, Best Dog and Adult, Best Dog and Group, Spookiest Pooch, and Best in Show.
I-X Center Trick-or-Treat Street
Where: I-X Center
When: October 19-20 & 26-27, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Don't miss this exciting Halloween tradition at the International Exposition (I-X) Center! Trick-or-Treat Street features creatively themed and not-so-spooky Halloween houses dishing out candy, plus pony rides, kiddie rides and live entertainment. Get your tickets for $13 in advance or $14 the day of!

The Cheese & Wine Fest Cleveland 2019
Where: Lago Custom Events
When: November 16, 5-9 p.m.
Do you love cheese? Then you're in for a treat this November! Back for its third year, the Cheese and Wine Fest will once again feature cheeses from around the world along with various wines that pair perfectly with them. This event will be held at Lago Custom Events on the east bank of the Flats. You can purchase a ticket to this cheesy event here.
Winterfest
Where: Downtown Cleveland
When: November 30, 10 a.m.-8p.m.
To end the fall season and officially welcome in the holidays, join Downtown Cleveland at the annual Winterfest! All day long, you and your family can experience the magic of the holidays, with lights, entertainment and activities for people of all ages. In the evening, don't miss the free horse-drawn carriage rides, the tree lighting ceremony, the fireworks show and more!
